EU-hosted & privacy-first
A task manager hosted in the EU
Most task managers are US-based. Croniqs keeps your data in the EU, is GDPR-friendly by design, and never sells your data or runs ads against it — in a calm planner with four ways to see your work.
What “EU-hosted” and GDPR actually mean for you
EU-hosted means your data is stored on servers physically located in the European Union, rather than being sent to another region by default. GDPR, the EU’s data-protection law, then gives you concrete rights over that data: the right to access it, to export a copy (portability), and to have it deleted (erasure) — and it limits how a company may use it.
It matters because many popular task apps are US-based, where laws such as the CLOUD Act can compel providers to hand over data, and some free apps fund themselves by profiling users for ads. Where your data lives, and who can reach it, isn’t a detail — it’s the difference between your task list being private and being a product.
How to tell if a to-do app respects your privacy
Before you trust an app with your plans, it’s worth asking five questions — of any app, not just this one:
Where is the data stored? Look for a stated region or country. “EU-hosted” or a named data centre beats vague wording.
How does the company make money? Subscriptions align the app with you; “free” often means ads and data profiling.
Can you export your data? A real export (CSV or similar) means you’re never locked in.
Can you delete your account and data? Account-and-data deletion should be self-service, not a support ticket.
Is there a clear, readable privacy policy? It should plainly say what’s collected and whether anything is sold or shared.
