Private by design

A private task manager, by design

Your to-do list knows your health appointments, your money errands and your family plans. Croniqs keeps that between you and the app: no ads, no trackers, no data resale — funded by a small subscription and hosted in the EU.

Your to-do list is more personal than you think

A task list looks mundane, but read one back and it’s a diary written in advance: therapy on Thursday, call the bank about the loan, pick up a prescription, plan the anniversary. It maps your health, finances, relationships and routines — often more candidly than anything you’d post publicly.

Yet most popular to-do apps are free, and free apps have to pay for themselves somehow — usually with advertising, tracking, or by feeding a larger data ecosystem. The privacy of a to-do app isn’t decided in its settings screen; it’s decided by its business model.

How Croniqs keeps your plans private

Funded by subscriptions, not your data

Free apps usually pay for themselves with your data — ads, tracking, resale. Croniqs makes money one way: Pro subscriptions at $3.99/month. With no ads to sell and no data to monetize, there is simply no reason to collect more than the app needs to work.

No ads, no ad trackers

No advertising SDKs in the app, no third-party ad trackers on the website. Even our site analytics are cookieless, so there is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.

Your tasks live in Sweden

Task data is stored in the EU — in Google Cloud’s europe-north2 region in Sweden — and our services run from Belgium. Your data is protected under GDPR, not shipped to another jurisdiction by default.

Your data stays yours

Delete your account and all its data yourself, any time, on any plan — no support ticket. Pro includes full CSV and JSON export, so you are never locked in.

What Croniqs collects — and what it never does

We collect only what the product needs

  • Your email address, to create your account and send reminders you ask for

  • Your tasks, labels and settings — stored so they can sync to your devices

  • Payments via Stripe if you subscribe — we never see your card number

  • Minimal, EU-hosted product analytics to see which features are used

We never

  • Sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers

  • Show ads or embed advertising SDKs in the app

  • Run third-party ad trackers or cookie-based tracking on the website

  • Read your tasks for anything other than running the product

The details, in plain language, are in the Privacy Policy.

What “private” means here — and what it doesn’t

Honesty is part of the deal, so here is the line. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, but Croniqs is not end-to-end encrypted — our systems can read your tasks, because that’s what lets them sync across devices and send you reminders. If E2E encryption is your hard requirement, a specialised encrypted notes tool will serve you better.

What Croniqs promises instead is the part most apps get wrong: a business model with no reason to exploit your data, no ads or trackers anywhere, EU hosting under GDPR, and the ability to export or delete everything yourself. Read more about why EU hosting matters or see exactly what Croniqs costs.

Private task manager — FAQ

Is Croniqs a private to-do app?

Yes — privacy is the point, not a feature toggle. Croniqs is funded by subscriptions, shows no ads, uses no third-party ad trackers, and never sells or shares your data. Your tasks are stored in the EU (Sweden) under GDPR.

How does Croniqs make money if not from my data?

From subscriptions only. There is a free plan, and Croniqs Pro is $3.99/month or $35.88/year. That is the whole business model — you are the customer, not the product.

Is my task data encrypted?

Your data is encrypted in transit and encrypted at rest on Google Cloud’s infrastructure. Croniqs is not end-to-end encrypted: our systems can read your tasks in order to sync them and send reminders. If you need E2E encryption above all else, a specialised encrypted notes tool is a better fit — Croniqs’ promise is a private business model, EU hosting, and no tracking.

Where exactly is my data stored?

Task data is stored in Google Cloud’s europe-north2 region in Stockholm, Sweden. File attachments are stored in europe-north1 in Finland, and the services that power Croniqs run in europe-west1 in Belgium. All three are inside the European Union.

Can I export or delete my data?

You can delete your account and all its data yourself at any time, on any plan — it is self-service, not a support request. Croniqs Pro also includes full data export in CSV and JSON, so you can take your tasks elsewhere whenever you like.

Does the free plan have the same privacy?

Yes. Privacy is not a paid tier: free accounts get the same EU hosting, the same no-ads, no-tracking policy, and the same self-service deletion. The free plan includes unlimited tasks, natural-language and voice quick-add, labels and reminders.
