Spaces, Areas & sharing

Two levels of structure — no folders inside folders inside folders. Spaces separate worlds; Areas organize within them. That's the whole model.

Spaces: separate worlds

A Space is a fully separate context — Work, Personal, a side business. Each Space has its own Areas and tasks, so your grocery list never appears next to client work. The free plan includes one Space; Pro includes unlimited Spaces and lets you switch between them from the sidebar.

Areas: projects and life admin

Areas live inside a Space and hold tasks — think “Project Alpha”, “Home”, “Health & Fitness”. Areas are unlimited on every plan. Every task belongs to exactly one Area, and views can show a single Area or all of them at once. For grouping that cuts across Areas (like “errands” or “deep focus”), use labels instead.

Sharing an Area — Pro

Pro users can share individual Areas by email invitation: open the Area, choose Share, and enter the other person’s email. If they don’t have a Croniqs account yet, the invite waits for them. Everyone in a shared Area sees the same tasks, and changes sync in real time — new tasks, completions and edits appear for everyone instantly.

Limits: up to 5 shared Areas per account and up to 99 people per Area. Sharing is per-Area on purpose — you share “Household” without sharing everything else in your Space.

Leaving or removing someone

The Area owner can remove members at any time, and members can leave. When someone is removed or deletes their account, they lose access immediately — the tasks stay with the Area’s owner.
